Kim MacGregor launched this grassroots movement to unite and inspire 1,000,000 women around the world to recognize the amazing women in their lives-in memory of her inspirational friend Erika Heller, who lost her four-year battle with colon cancer on May 28, 2009, at 31 years old, just two weeks shy of her one-year wedding anniversary to her Prince Charming, Ryan Cornell.

I wish Erika to be remembered by how she lived her life: full of smiles, laughter, silly voices, love, encouragement, and gratitude for her many friends. Never missing a chance to show her appreciation for the gift of friendship—something that meant so much to her—Erika always ended our conversations with the words, “I think you’re amazing because…”

She loved children, but after countless rounds of chemotherapy, she couldn't have children of her own; instead, she loved the world's children as though they were her own—including my 3 lucky little girls who loved her right back!

I love the song I Believe (from the movie Honey, sung by Yolanda Adams), in part because Erika gave me a necklace with the word believe etched on it. Now I believe in something bigger: that this one video can unite 1,000,000 people globally, creating the largest living legacy of friendship.

I hope this story and the video inspire you, put a smile on your face, and remind you of the amazing women in your own life who make your world a better place. This site gives you the chance to say "I believe she's amazing" to all the moms, sisters, aunts, grandmas, teachers, daughters, wives and girlfriends who matter and who make you believe in yourself!

Erika was the national spokesperson for the Look Good Feel Better non-profit organization that helps women undergoing cancer treatment to feel radiant and beautiful, even through a difficult time in their lives. In honor of Erika, I have chosento help support Look Good Feel Better.

I would like to thank the choreographers from The Dance Corps who helped pull this together––Maureen Morkill, Stefanie Urch, Christianna Stanley and Kim Lewicki. Thanks also to all the wonderful dancers who so enthusiastically volunteered their time to be part of this––it could not have happened without them! Thanks to the Toronto Eaton Centre for allowing us to take over a large space one Sunday morning, and the videographers who captured the excitement at every angle; Eric Wiegand of Eric Wiegand Productions, Ainsworth at Digital M Squared, Hunter Molnar at One Eye Video Productions, and to TheRingBearer.ca for lending me their cameraman CJ. Thanks also to Chrissy Newton along with Caitlin O'Hanlon and Lauren Dodge of VOCAB Communications for helping to spread the word about this movement.
